About (upd 3/2007)

About this website

The Cabaroo Site has been on the internet since 2002 and has undergone a couple of different layouts. This new one (finally, March 2007) has been a bit of a challenge as I previously did mostly html coding and now this is being done using Dreamweaver 8, and some Flash-elements. This way I have less boundaries and you get a more interesting site - I hope! Downside is that you really need to have up-to-date browsers like IE 7 or Firefox 2. I've used layers and they do not show in every browser.
I shall add new pages when they get done, this is just a start...!

You may wonder why I have added the 'cabaroo.com' on most of the photos even though I've not taken them all myself.. Well, I just hate it when people take photos from your website without bothering to ask a permission for it. And don't mention where they got the photo from in the first place. That is actually ILLEGAL!
So, all the photos on this site have been watermarked. With Photoshop you can make magic. :) I'd like to know if you wish to publish a cabaroo-photo on your own website. It will have to contain the watermark anyway, but I might put your site on my links-page (which is not done yet!). :)

All the drawings and graphics are made by me.
No permission will be given to publish photos on virtual kennel websites.

I like writing so there's a lot to read about on this site. By the way, do not copy my text.. write your own stuff!! ;)
The name Cabaroo comes from the word cabaret and hence the visual layout of the site. Roo herself got the name because she was such a bouncy pup!! Roo, of course, is kangaroo for short.

About me, the breeder of Cabaroo Border Collies

I've always been interested in dogs although we only had cats when I was a child. I used to read every book there was about dogs and I've always had a soft spot for Border Collies, there just was something different about them.
I got my first dog, a tricolour Shetland Sheepdog, for Christmas 1986. With her I started to do Agility and Obedience. Since her I have shared my life with eight other dogs. Some have stayed for all their lives but some have moved on.

My hobby is my dogs. My work is other people's dogs as I give lessons and courses in Competitive Obedience. Well, to be precise, I help other people to train their dogs, I don't train their dogs myself (that would be too easy!! - haha, just kidding). Besides being a 'dog crazy person', I'm also a graphic desiger (web/print) and do have an artistic streak in me - which shows in watercolors, drawings and sometimes in photographs (not to mention this site..!).
About my small business of Dog Training & Graphic Design, you can read from my other website; SPEAKING BARK

I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SITE!! :)

Yours,
Katja

The name
CABAROO
comes from
the word 'cabaret'
which means:
A restaurant or café
which provides singing,
dancing etc. as
entertainment for
its patrons.
Entertainment of
this type.

I changed the end
to 'roo' after my
Roo, and hope that
all my Cabaroos
love to dance, perform
and generally show off!
Breeding since 1999.

Katja&Nevada, 2007.

This is me with Nevada, I dressed up cabaret-style to go with the lay-out of this site — how about that?! ;)
Must say, though, that usually you would see me in an old pair of jeans and a T-shirt.. not in a dress!!
