The Cabaroo Site has been on the internet since 2002 and has undergone a couple of different layouts. First I did mostly just html coding and in March 2007 the site went through a big process. I still used html, but also Dreamweaver 8 (now that's updated to Adobe CS4). The site looked like this; The Art Nouveau Cabaroo. As you see, most elements are on the same place but look different. This new layout was relatively quick to do, thanks to CSS. :) This current lay-out is old western style cabaret, as I think that Revyy has added a lot of wild wild west atmosphere here! It's rodeo for him most of the time!
You may wonder why I have added the 'cabaroo.com' on most of the photos even though I've not taken them all myself.. Well, I just hate it when people take photos from your website without bothering to ask a permission for it. And don't mention where they got the photo from in the first place. That is actually ILLEGAL!
So, all the photos on this site have beencopyrighted. Please respect that. I'd like to know if you wish to publish a cabaroo-photo on your own website, all you need to do is ask. :)
All the drawings and graphics are made by me. Some little bits may come from the software I use (and have paid a lot of money for it..).
No permission will be given to publish photos on virtual kennel websites.
I like writing so there's a lot to read about on this site. By the way, do not copy my text.. write your own stuff!! ;)
The name Cabaroo comes from the word cabaret and hence the visual layout of the site. Roo herself got the name because she was such a bouncy pup!! Roo, of course, is kangaroo for short.
I've always been interested in dogs although we only had cats when I was a child. I used to read every book there was about dogs and I've always had a soft spot for Border Collies, there just was something different about them.
I got my first dog, a tricolour Shetland Sheepdog, for Christmas 1986. With her I started to do Agility and Obedience. Since her I have shared my life with many other dogs. Some have stayed for all their lives but some have moved on.
My hobby is my dogs. My work is other people's dogs as I give lessons and courses in Competitive Obedience. Well, to be precise, I help other people to train their dogs, I don't train their dogs myself (that would be too easy!! - haha, just kidding).
Besides being a 'dog crazy person', I'm also a graphic desiger (web/print) and do have an artistic streak in me — which shows in watercolors, drawings and photographs/edited photographs. I love to do photo collages, the background of this site is a good example of them.
About my small business of Dog Training & Graphic Design, you can read from my other website; SPEAKING BARK
I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SITE!! :)
Yours,
Katja
