8th May — me and Nevada missed this competition as she started her season. So I went along as a spectator. Warm congratulations to Pia, Robbie managed a first prize despite the very tired handler! Well done!!

6th May — Jaska (C. Polar Blast) has been DNA tested 'not TNS' and CL clear. :)

The Cabaroos have been active in Obedience this weekend, here goes:
On Saturday; Tiltu & Retu (C. The Arctic Fire) got 277p./ 2nd place (Vantaa/R.Räsänen Cl.4), and on Sunday
Tiltu & Retu (C. The Arctic Fire) got 293p./ 1st place (Helsinki, M. Packalén Cl.4)
HeidiM & Tuubi (C. Be Or Not To Be) got 306p/1st place out of 7 (Nurmijärvi, H.Pörsti Cl.4)
HeidiM & Troy (C. Fire At Midnite) got 170½p/ 2nd place out of 7 (Nurmijärvi, H.Pörsti Cl.2)
Also my Nur (the maltese) participated in Cl.1 but we blew the down.. so 155p. (Nurmijärvi) Ah well, my mistake.. I have a bad case of spring flu :/ We got bit of thunder just before going to the ring. Boy I am glad none of my dogs are afraid of rumble! I had taken them all with me. A very hot day. Thanks Lotta for bringing Tiri so I got to see her :) There's no photo of Tuubi because I arrived after the prize-giving.

27th April — It's been a busy Sunday to the Cabaroos. Here's the three firsts that were received from obedience, all from class 4:
Tiltu & Retu (C. The Arctic Fire) got 278p/ 1st place/out of 17 (Porvoo)
Me & Nevada (C. Glacier Gale) got 286p/ 3rd place/out of 12 (Kouvola)
Pia & Robbie (C. Fiery Gust) got 276½ / 7th place/ out of 12 (Kouvola)
CONGRATULATIONS! Especially to Pia & Robbie as this was their first 1st! Robbie did a beautiful round, most of his exercises were full points!!! :D
25th April —I just updated last weekends' results as I've been away. I've also FINALLY added the page for Nevada's kids. Sorry it took me so long...
19th April — Congrats to Reetta & Jaska (C. Polar Blast) for a first from Cl.4 Obedience! 258points and first place!
Also congratulations to Vuokko & Sigma (C. Moonlight Eyes) for a clear run in Agility Cl.2, and a First place!! :)
17th April — HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO WINDS-LITTER! I am so proud of this litter. Out of 5 pups 3 work in the highest class in Obedience and one will soon be there! And they are only 3 yrs old. Best thing is their super temperaments! Thanks to the parents Retu & Breeze for making such dream dogs. We owners are very very happy. :)
12th April — Some of Nevada's kids met in a park and we did a nice walk in a lovely sunny April day. I took photos!
10th April — Retu had his eyes examined and they were clear except that his left eye was diagnosed having a grade 2 PHTVL/PHPV. It does not affect his vision. In BCs this eye anomaly is rare and not considered so serious the dog should be withdrawn from breeding. So Retu is still offered at limited stud.
Also I will be using Nevada (Retu's daughter) for breeding later on. After doing research on this anomaly, I found out that the mild cases do not affect dogs' vision and it gives no pain to the dog.
However, I'll encourage other dogs of this lineage to be eye tested at a later age (over 5 yrs), even if they are not used for breeding. That way we may get a clearer view on the matter.
6th April — Jaska (C. Polar Blast) got his first 1st prize from Cl.4 Obedience, with 266 points. Warmest congratulations, Reetta!!!
3rd April — It's been a lovely day, one can smell the spring in the air. :) We did a long walk, Ronni is here "on vacation". ;)
30th March— Today it was Retu's kids' turn, who both did nice work with minor, but point-loosing, mistakes. Still, good work, Robbie (C. Fiery Gust/ cl.4) & Pia and Viima (C. Arctic Breeze/ cl.3) & Heidi. :)
Spark (Apache vd Vrundenhoeve) took part in FCI ob competition in Belgium. He won the class. Way to go, Ilse & Spark!! :)
29th March — Retu (C. The Arctic Fire) got 292p from Int. Ob Competition in Kirkkonummi, they were placed 4th which is very well done (26 dogs). Cool! Congrats, Tiltu & Retu!!
3rd March — March has had a bright start! With the snow landed a Finnair plane with a 'package' from Belgium. Thank you to the courier :) And others involved. The package is a tricolour border collie girl by the name of Tiri. She has already settled into her new home, a very confident and pretty girl, who wags her tail a lot! :)
Thanks, Ilse, for letting her come to Finland, she does like the snow! (which we've had very little this year, but obviously had to have some for her!!) Photos!
10th Feb — Sorry I've not updated this site, I'm awfully busy (again..), but will get to it in a couple of weeks time, hopefully...;) The weather has been hideous.. it's been raining, no sun just greyness... :/
We got back some DNA-test results;
Retu (C. The Arctic Fire) is TNS-clear.
Nevada (C. Glacier Gale) is TNS-carrier, CL-clear.
There is no TNS-affected pups in the Winds-litter, nor in the Las Vegas -litter as their sire Casey is TNS-clear.
26th Jan — Tuubi (Cabaroo Be Or Not To Be) took part in the Turku Winter Show's Int Ob. Althought having no points from scent he got a 1st prize; 266p. - very well done!! :) And the best thing was that he got FULL POINTS from heelwork, the only dog to do so!! :0 Congrats Heidi, THAT must feel awsome!! wow!
25th Jan — I took a bit of video yesterday, when we had January's only blizzard..!! :) Here's a link to it; Retu&girls. It'll open to W. Movie player.
20th Jan — Steve moved to his new home today. It's always tough when a pup stays with me "overtime"... I start liking them much too much and so I say the goodbyes with a great big lump in my throat... But all the best little fellow, you're smashing! :)
19th Jan — Happy Birthday to Native American Names-litter! They are now 4 yrs old, except my lovely Freak who I miss so much...
18th Jan — SORRY! I forgot... Happy Birthday to Fires-litter!! They turned 5 years old on the 16th.
7th Jan — Nevada's pups have gone to new homes now. They all passed the health test with clear papers. Little Steve is still looking for a new home, and I have put some videoclips on the puppypage of Steve, have a look by clicking the Puppies-arrow.
I also put a videoclip of Nur and Steve playing, the noise comes mainly from Steve...! Black and white... ;)
5th Jan — Jaska (C. Polar Blast) got 275,5 points from class 3 so he can now compete in the highest class in Obedience!! Well done!! Jaska also won his class. Lots of congratulations to Reetta!!
1st Jan — Pups did not care about the fireworks one bit, they slept through the bangs. :) I have got one black male available, the others have got their new homes where to go by the end of the week. See the puppy page to see photos of "Steve".
