18th July — Spinnu passed Character Test
Spinnu (C. Plaza Poker) passed Character Test with +160 points. He was tested to be lively, rather soft, good fighting spirit (toy), ability to act/do and the surprise was that he defended himself quite fiercely when left alone and "attacked" by a stranger, but became friendly as soon as the "attacker" became friendly (I don't think my dogs would defend themselves, they'd wait for me to come to rescue them!!!). He was secure to gun shots. Congratulations, Miikka.

17th July — Nevada OB4: exc/262p. 1st place
Another competition for us, this time she corrected those mistakes she did last BUT invented new ones!! She was slightly disobedient this time... must be the heat.. :*
I had Revyy and Tiri with me as well, and we met Jonna & Saimi and did some agility.
Took some photos of Tiri and Saimi, nothing brilliant I'm afraid. The day was wonderful, though. Thanks, Jonna!!
14th July — Rilla OB1: exc/200p HP. 1st place/11 dogs *FULL POINTS!*
Nevada's daughter Rilla (C. Along Ice Trail) got FULL points from obedience class 1 with Honorary Prize. WELL done!! Congratulations, Mari!
13th July — Happy Birthday to Cloud, 11 years!
9th July — Nevada OB4: exc/259p. 1st place
Nevada (C. Glacier Gale) and I went to an ob competition to practise for the Fin ChShips later this month. She did rather well considering that it's been almost a year since we last made an appearance in the ring..! She gets so wound up from the markers it's making things difficult, too much ethusiasm not enough patience ;)
20th June — Jaska got to FI AGI Championship FINALS!!!
Very well done to Jaska (C. Polar Blast)
and his handler Markus Turunen! They got 5 from jumping and were placed 19th out of the 162 dogs who had qualified to the Finnish Ch.Ships this year. 50 dogs qualified for the finals and I'm very proud that Jaska was amongst them. :) In the finals they got faults and ended up being 31st. Also in the finals were Fi AgCh Tronic Catarua (Spark's granddaughter) and Fi AgCh Tending Pacemaker (Pihka's daughter). :)

6th June — Sigma OB4: exc/297,5p. / 3rd place
Sigma's (C. Moonlight Eyes) maternity leave is over and today she got a very nice result from a competition. Well done, Vuokko and Sigma!! A busy day for mom, because we had a Puppy Meeting in the afternoon. Kids have grown some, they now weigh from 6,6kg to 7,6kg, at 11 weeks old. And they are no small pups, with good bone and all. :) Thank you all for coming, it was very nice to see them.

5th June — Herding Day
We had a Herding Day in Somero, in Swedun Paimennuskoulu. Luck was on our side weather wise, it was sunny but windy so it was not too hot for the dogs or sheep, but dry. :) I was very pleased to see that all the dogs showed at least a bit of herding instinct, and this was a first time on sheep for some of them. And of course some of them were working very nicely indeed!! Nice. :) Here you'll find some photos.

Raisu (C. Tracks On Ice) passed the BH test. Well done, congratulations Mia!!

Rilla (C. Along Ice Trail) and Mari obeyed themselves to class two. Congratulations for the high points!!

15th May — Ronni AGI-1 0/5th place AND QUALIFIED TO CLASS 2!!
Ronni (C. One Wild Night) and Heidi D. did a clear round and came 5th out of 23 dogs and so they qualified to compete in the next class. Ronnis time was -8,40s. Well done and good luck!

Robbie (C. Fiery Gust) and Pia went to Pet Expo and did a clear round and won!! Thus they qualified to the highest class in Agility!! AWESOME!!! Lots and lots of congratulations!!!!
21st April — Tru OB1: exc/167p.
Tru (C. Gliding On Ice) started her obedience career with a first prize and thus she qualified for the 2nd class!! Very well done, Nelli and Tru! Congratulations!! Also to Tero for helping them, I'm sure. :)
17th April — HAPPY BIRTHDAY to WINDS-litter!
Robbie, Viima, Jaska, Ira and my Nevada turn 5 years old today — where DOES time FLY?! Really?!! They are such a lovely bunch of dogs. I am biased of course... Nevada is very clever, very driven, very pretty and has the best temperament ever! I am so happy that nobody wanted her as a pup!! Your loss! ;D
Also Happy 9th Birthday to Niina's Scott! Getting to be a golden oldie. :)
14th April — HAPPY BIRTHDAY to REVYY!
Revyy (Let's Play Black Chevers) turns two today. He is a big hooligan, who loves to JUMP and RUN! Sometimes he is a bit tiring because he is so on the go all the time (only outside the house, thankfully!) but he makes me smile every single day for his smily face and funny things he does (he is truly asking LET'S PLAY most of the time!!). I am forever grateful to Nikol and David for letting me have this wonderful red rocket :) Thank you :)) Also to his lovely parents Jackie and Spark! To all the other pups - Happy Birthday!

It was nice to watch Cl.3 prize giving, first was Tending Pawnee "Meg" who is Pihka's (C. Flamin Flamenco) daughter and third was Tronic Camilka "Milka", who is Spark's (Apache van de Vrundenhoeve) granddaughter! :) Congratulations to their handlers.
1st April — about the pups
Sigma's tricolour boy "Bill" passed away this morning. His mom snapped at him six days ago, giving a bump to his nose where nothing showed, no blood no swelling or anything. Bill went rather poorly for a couple of days but then started to eat from a bottle and looked much better. But he stopped eating last night and died early this morning. We are very sad as of course we got rather fond of him already. :'(
The other puppies are fine. Thank you for the many inqueries I've gotten for the puppies. They are all booked now. :) For future puppy plans see Plans.
28th March — Yra OB2: exl/175p./1st place
Yra (C. The Mirage) won cl.2 with 175p and so qualified to compete in cl.3 obedience. Well done, Maria & Yra!!
25th March — Sigma has 5 puppies!
Sigma had her pups on Sunday 21st. One pup was born naturally but then there was one coming out sideways and backend first. Sigma pushed very hard but the pup would just not come out so a c-section was carried out. The one blocking others had died but we got 4 very lively pups after that one. So all in all 5 vigorous puppies, 1 tri girl, 2 blm girls, 1 blm boy and 1 tri boy. Mom & pups are fine. :)
8th March — Health Results
Both Saimi (Sanmar Lilli) and Tiri (Guallatiri of Xilver Highland) are genetically tested:
TNS-normal (not TNS) and CL-clear. I'm so happy about this! :)

3rd February — swimming in snow
We have got SO much snow! It's about 60cm deep so the BC's are not running in it, they are swimming - like dolphins..! It's very soft powdery snow so it's light, it really is like swimming! There's so much of that powdery stuff on the paths that Nur cannot go with us on the forest walks (being so small has its disadvangates..).
2nd February — HEALTH results (eye examination):
Saimi (Sanmar Lilli) has got clear eyes. :) She also had a gonioscopy to assess any predisposition for narrow angle glaucoma. She had not. We discussed about it with the vet, and basically the examination tells you if the dog has a higher than normal risk of getting
glaucoma, even if the dog has higher risk, it does not necessarily mean that it will get glaucoma at some point. Also, even if dog is examined to have normal eyes, it does not necessarily mean he will never get it. So the examination tells the result of that moment when its taken.
Tiri (Guallatiri of Xilver Highland) has got clear eyes. :) She did not have gonioscopy, my choice.
Both girls had blood drawn and sent to opposite ends of the world.... I'll let you know when I get results of DNA testing.
31st January — Mac OB2: exl/196p./1st place | Yra AGI2: 0/2nd place
Mac (C. Vegas Vic) got great points (196/200) from cl.2 and so qualified to compete in cl.3 obedience, well done Iida!

24th January — Retu OB4:exl/269p./7th place
Well done Tiltu and Retu (C.The Arctic Fire) for getting 7th place in Qualifying Competition. I just decided to start using 'excellent' for a 1st prize in Obedience, 'very good' for 2nd and 'good' for 3rd. As you know we get a prize according to the points we get. Basically you have to get a 'first' (=excellent) to get anything. One excellent from each class gets you to the next class. With seconds (very good) and thirds (good) you don't do anything. So actually they could be; seconds - 'nearly there' and thirds - 'oops, need more training'... ;)
I'm getting fed up with all the put-more-clothes-on when going outside. It was -19C this morning and one feels like a michelin-man after putting proper coat and pants on... :/ Takes more time to put them on than what one stays outside!! Well, not quite... It's just me, the dogs are quite ok. Girls start to lift their paws if they stop (they don't, except when I start fishing the door keys out of my pocket) but the boys are fine. Even Nur the Maltese!! :0 He's got a warm wool coat on, but still I find it amazing that he's not frozen solid! We think he's really an Alaskan Malamute who was accidentally born as a Maltese...!
So all dogs got a bit of trick training. I've not done that for a while so we had great fun! :D Did all the ones they knew and some new tricks.

17th January — Paavo (C. Slots A Fun) & Raisu (C. Tracks On Ice) went to a breed show. Both got Good. I think they deserve better than that ;) Congratulations.

14th January — Sigma has been mated with Luka. Pups hopefully due on 20th March. See photos.
2nd January — We've got heaps of snow and the dogs love it! Above is Brego after diving into it.. :D Revyy has inherited the strange "Siberia-gene" from his dad Spark and feels quite at home at -18C!!! Others may lift up their paws 'cause it's so cold but not Revyy... he's hot-blooded!
Tiri and Robbie took part in Agility (unoff. and R also off.) in Hyvinkää and both went beautifully. Unfortunately Robbie stepped on the canvas of the tunnel (pussi) and that eliminated them, otherwise such a flowing course!!
